MEET LISA:  A proven consensus builder who gets results.

That’s who Lisa Van Why is at heart – whether as a business professional, local School Board member, community volunteer, or mom.

And that’s what we need now more than ever in Harrisburg fighting for our families – someone who isn’t a politician, won’t play political games, and is dedicated to uniting people behind our common goals and getting results.

As the mom of two children, Lisa understands what every parent wants: to prepare their children for success in life, to make sure they are safe, and to build a world where they can thrive. Really, all the things we want our State Representative to focus on for every person, every family, and every child.

As a successful small business owner for more than 20 years and community volunteer, Lisa has the real-world experience, skills, and connection to our concerns that we want in state government.

As a local School Board member elected by her neighbors from every political party, Lisa has proven her ability to bring people together to achieve commonsense compromise and real results. She has also been a strong voice for fiscal restraint, voting against tax increases, balancing the budget, and helping deliver a quality education while respecting the rights of parents to be involved in their children’s education.

Lisa also believes that to get better government, the people’s voice must be heard…and that means listening to the majority, not bowing to the extremes of either side or a political agenda.

Now Lisa is running for State Representative to bring her proven abilities to Harrisburg and focus on the issues we care about most.

Lisa knows a quality education that prioritizes teaching the skills children need to succeed is vital to not only their future, but Pennsylvania’s. And she knows that comes through investment, accountability, and parental involvement – the things she will fight for in Harrisburg.

Lisa will use her real-world experience to help small businesses, entrepreneurs, and job creators grow our economy and provide the good-paying jobs that are the key to the success of our families.

Lisa understands how inflation and the rising cost of everything from food to gas to utilities is making it harder for people to get by. In Harrisburg, she will be a strong fiscal watchdog making sure government isn’t over-spending – which is one of the main drivers of inflation. Her goal is simple: make life a little easier for everyone.

She understands the other concerns of our families as well – safety, the rising cost of healthcare, increasing drug use, protecting our property values and so much more. That’s why on every issue she will ask a simple question: what will help people the most?

Getting tough on drug dealers AND fighting for addiction treatment funding? Yes.

Bringing more competition to the insurance market to reduce healthcare costs and working to increase access to medical care? Yes.

Supporting our police, fire fighters and EMTs? Yes.

Lisa’s approach to issues is like the people she wants to represent, because she’s like the people she wants to represent. A third-generation, lifelong resident of Monroe County who graduated from our local public schools, Lisa and her husband, Scott, raised their two children here because of how special our community is.

Lisa is also like so many of us in the most important way: She’s tired of the constant political fighting and tired of nothing real getting done. Like us, Lisa yearns for a return of sanity and common sense to our government. That’s what she will work for as our State Representative.
